Brontë Clifford, BA

Having received her undergraduate degree in Mathematics as the University of Washington in Seattle, Bronte has worked as a Technical Support Engineer at MathSoft, Inc., Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of Utah and Program Manager at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Bronte not only acts as the Director of the Ohio School of Phlebotomy but she also holds a position as the Clinical Research Data Manager at The Ohio State University in the Clinical Trials Office at The James Cancer Hospital and Research Institute. Bronte is a self-taught phlebotomist specializing in performing physical exams for insurance companies and health fairs. Her love of drawing blood let her to open the Ohio School of Phlebotomy.

A Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) at age 19 while working his way through Nursing School, Scott worked mostly in an inpatient hospital setting in all areas (Med/Surg, all Intensive Care units, ER, Nursery, Oncology, etc.). He also performed Phlebotomy in nursing homes, outpatient settings, MRDD and health fairs. Nearly 10 years as an RN, CEN, he earned countless certifications (ACLS, PALS, etc.) and specialized in Emergency/Trauma/Cardiac Critical Care as well as an IV Nurse Specialist inserting Midlines and PICC Lines. In addition to his Nursing Degree, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems (CIS) and a Master's Degree in Network and Communications Management (MNCM).
Scott currently holds the position of Health Care Informatics Manager for the State of Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). Click here to view resume.
 
Marty Nelson

With six years of experience at The Ohio State University Medical Center at OSU East ER and a member of OSU STAT Service, Marty performed phlebotomy throughout the hospital, including the training/mentoring of new staff in the fine art of drawing blood, even from the most difficult of sticks. With a wealth of first hand experience, Marty brings a 'nuts and bolts approach' to phlebotomy that helps students translate theory into real world understanding, allowing them to grasp not only the "How" but also the 'Why" in the field of phlebotomy.

Joe works as a mobile Phlebotomist performing insurance physicals, otherwise known as a Paramedical Examiner. He combines his creative abilities with his art of drawing blood. Having several years of experience as a Paramedical Examiner, Joe loves to share his stories and tricks of the trade.

Having completed her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science with an emphasis on education, and attained the credential of Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Emily is preparing for her matriculation into medical school by continuing her education at The Ohio State University. She is passionate about medical education and seeing each student develop their skills to become a talented medical professional and integral part of a medical team.

Dr. Clifford earned his M.D. through Rush University's College of Medicine, followed by a highly competitive transitional internship within the UCLA medical system. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies and a Master of Science in Chemistry from University of Illinois Chicago, where he participated in bench research focused on developing HIV treatments, and where he enjoyed working as an instructor in the Chemistry department for several years. He brings his medical expertise, scientific knowledge, and experience as an educator to the Ohio School of Phlebotomy, where he teaches the Medical Assisting course and oversees the implementation of all curriculum.
