Phlebotomy is the collection of blood specimens for laboratory analysis and is used to diagnose and monitor medical conditions. It plays a key role in patient care. It is widely accepted that the quality of a laboratory test is only as good as the specimen that was obtained by the Phlebotomist. To achieve this level of quality, a highly trained professional is required. Due to growing demand, the complexity of laboratory testing, and the need to increase the efficiency and cost effectiveness of health care, phlebotomy has become a very specialized area of clinical laboratory practice. The term Phlebotomist is now used to describe this specialized position and this course is designed to prepare the student for these roles.
Our Mission is to raise the standard of care in our community by providing well-trained and highly skilled medical professionals. Ohio School of Phlebotomy is dedicated to empowering individuals with skills, knowledge, practical training and experience needed for a successful career in the growing and rewarding fields of allied healthcare. We believe that quality education does not need to be high in cost, just high in quality. Therefore we provide short-term, low cost, quality programs.
